We have a flourishing programme of inter-club matches every year. This year there have been 30 matches (15 home and away) with clubs in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and Wiltshire. We travel as far as Filton, Evesham, Ross-on-Wye and Marlborough. These provide a good opportunity for match play golf and to visit and play other clubs. In addition we have three “internal” matches with the Ladies and Junior sections of Lilley Brook. We operate a mixed greensomes competition with the Ladies and both a mixed pairs and straight match with the Juniors.
Apart from the matches there are regular stablefords and trophies throughout the season (both medal and match play) with the highlights being the Seniors’ Open in July and the Invitation Day in May. A large number of clubs also send us details of their Open days and these are advertised to the members so that they might enter if they wish. At Christmas time we have a special 12 hole competition followed by a very good lunch and the annual prize giving.

We aim to be a very friendly section and there are a number of roll-ups throughout the week where new members are welcome.
The Seniors’ section is over 150 strong and committed to enjoying golf. The cost of joining the section is a mere £2 and this automatically gives entry to the section’s events and inter-club matches.
