ladies club news
Our golfing season is in full swing with various County matches taking place together with the Friendlies.
The first win of the season was the Bronze Team Championship which took place in May, at Lansdown GC in Bath.
The Alliance Team is doing well, having won three matches, lost two, with another three home games still to play. This is a tremendous performance considering all the injuries the A Team has had.
Our Club Championship was played over 30 holes on the 11th July. 18 holes in the morning and 12 holes in the afternoon. Becky Webb is our 2017 Gross Champion with Chris Peers runner up. The Nett winner was Ali Paparesti, runner up Barbara Babbage.
The R&A regional finals of the Coronation 4's was held at Ross on Wye on the 24th July where Chris Peers and Sarah Danson came fourth after a count-back of 16 on the back 9, just missing out on going to the final in St Andrews by one point.
Later this month, Chris Peers and Jill Borrie have a home game in the Coronation 4's in the 7th and final round against Turville Golf Club from Aylesbury, Bucks. Good Luck girls!
Lilley Brook was successful at the County Nett Championship on the 4th August at Naunton Down. Our team of Chris Peers, Mary Brown, Alison Garside and Sue Durkin were first in a field of 120 players.
The Friendly matches have also gone very well this season, with four wins and three draws, with three games still to play.
Well done ladies, we've had an excellent season so far, with hopefully a lot more success to come!
